It's alright, but it's kind of pricy for the current state it is in. There are a lot of bugs, but at least the devs are listening. It is early access after all, so there will be improvements. I am finding it slightly confusing sometimes, can't seem to progress far without going bankrupt on the first day.. 2 words! GORDON RAMSAY!. I really wan't to like this game, but after struggling for the last two hours with horrendous placement issues, I couldn't play it anymore. It'll be a great game ONCE finished, but as of now I just can't get into it. Not to mention the glitches and bugs that still exist.. The game is a little delight.
The drawings are very cute and fit well with the game's general atmosphere; the in-game graphic is really nice.
Managing the restaurant isn't too difficult once you learn to think like an entrepreneur, but I wish the tutorial offered more tricks about financial matters 'cause it took me some time before understanding how to balance rent, marketing, salary, ingredients and such.
I love the recipe editor, it's especially funny 'cause you can create the recipe with the weirdest combo of ingredients + names ever and people in your restaurant will lose their minds. I'd like to edit the recipes though, and also delete old ones I don't like anymore from the menu. If there's a function for it, sadly I haven't found it.
I have high hopes for this game but I know it's in early access so I'll leave some food (ah!) for thought here:
- adding some positive and negative game events could be fun (a food critic visiting the restaurant, kids having a birthday party, rat infestation, etc)
- more animation for the cook, clients, and waiters would be nice. Not necessary but surely fun.
- the lack of a visible restroom, even if the decisions tab says you have one, makes me nervous for some reason.
- graphic effects to show the current state of your restaurant. With this I mean that if I'm not paying for wall cleaning, my walls will appear dirty, etc.
- Sometimes I have the feeling this is an idle game. Once I've set the menu, unlocked more ingredients etc, there isn't much to do except, sometimes, fixing the waiter's prioritized activities. I just let the game go and check my phone, draw... I don't mind it that much but most players would love a more interactive experience. Adding some clickable bonuses or activities here and there would keep the player focused and they'd feel move involved in their own restaurant. It doesn't have to be something big, it can be small like picking up some client's trash, setting the oven's temperature, small things that could help the restaurant run smoother.
That's about it. I'll keep playing 'cause overall it's such a fun little game!. I cannot describe the frustration this game is when you're first starting out. You think that by making a great menu with 100+ or 5* will make your restaurant work, but then you're losing money constantly and barely making even. The game tells you the bank is getting ready to take everything you own and crush your dreams while they're at it - but this doesn't actually happen until you're past -10k.
So why am I recommending? Because with every failure I face when trying to make even one week of profit, I'm only determined to try and keep trying until I work out some formula that works with it. It's a simple game which still needs a hell of a lot of tweaking - especially when it comes to finances and waiter/waitress AI. More often than not, you'll find yourself staring at idle waiters and waitresses which are staring at the wall and hiring more only ends in more of them staring at the wall at once and customers yelling frustration about bad service.. I was very excited for the release of this game - only to be met with extreme disappointment. I refunded this game because it had no official tutorial and you basically have to guess what to do and how to do it. Brief descriptions of tabs are not tutorials! I felt like I was set up to fail. Hopefully the developers will work to improve on it and maybe i'll give it another shot down the line.. Very good game !

We keep working on the first major update and it is now time to show you some of the contents we will soon release for Chef! As you may know, we are working on the City Map, a new system that will allow you to extend your influence across the city and slowly gather loyal customers. But to do that, we needed to rework how customers work in the game.
We felt like that the current system wasn’t clear enough, we wanted players to have a precise idea of how many people could come to the restaurant with a certain setup. That’s why we reworked the existing customers’ bars that appear in the Menu Panel and in the Policies Panel.
What’s new? Well, let’s start with the fact that there will finally be a clear number representing how many people may currently be interested in coming to your restaurant. All those numbers represent the actual pool of customers of the restaurant and the bars have now a different role: they indicate the Attractiveness of the restaurant’s offer.
While previously the Menu composition directly affected the number of people in the pool, with imprecise effects, now the pool can only be affected by your Popularity and your efforts to reach new districts expanding the influence you have in the city.
It will now be possible to know how many customers will pay a visit during the day, and you will be able to carefully assemble the menu and develop tactics to maximize profits. There will also be a much rewarding progression, since you will have to deal with low-budget customers at the beginning (including the infamous Cheapskates!), and slowly conquer more and more districts to gather enough high-budget customers to finally be able to serve only them in the restaurant!
We are now finishing all mechanics related to the City Map and the player’s expansion in it, and we will soon share more info regarding this major update with you! We are also still fixing bugs and minor issues, and all those fixes will be included in the City Map Update!
